Drive-by Art

Freeway shots. (Don't worry, I wasn't driving!)

I love all the photos and I love the last mural. Have they really trimmed away the trees, so that you can see this much of it? (I get credit for watching the road when I drive.)

The mural I really miss is the Freeway Lady with the Afghan.

Good 2 know you weren't driving! You must've been with your daughter, of course.

Gray Davis in a final gesture before being forced from office signed a bill to clean up the freeway corridor murals. A lot of good it did....
I miss the yellow mural with the over large depiction of children engaged in acts of play. I don't know why that was allowed to completely disappear. It too was in the corridor.

What fun to find a blog about South Pasadena. I live on the West Side (your comment about traffic on Pico Blvd. cracks me up - I try to avoid it as much as possible!) but I drive twice a week to see my Mom in a retirement home in Alhambra. I pass these murals on my way through downtown to get to the Pasadena Fwy and I often wish I had a picture of them. Thanks!
